There is no such thing as the homeschooliest homeschooler. No awards exist for the best homeschooler around. There are no podiums to stand on, no one to call your name out on a stage and often not even a word of thanks for your efforts.
So where's the reward? The reward is in the journey itself. It's in the connections you make with your kids. It's in the time you get to spend together, watching them stretch and grow and become themselves. It's in the gift of minutes and moments that really are immeasurable.
Friend, this is your friendly, loving reminder that whilst myself and others share from our lives and experiences, it is not a prescription of how to homeschool YOUR child. Just do your best as the homeschooler of YOUR children. I love sharing things that work for us (and I love that we can learn from each other) but that doesn't mean I'm some homeschooling hero with all the answers. My best advice when you head into the homeschooling year, is to read lots, listen to others who share their lives with you and then GLEAN WHAT YOU NEED! Take from me (and others) things that you might like the sound of, try it and see if it works. If it doesn't, that's ok! Get rid of it and try something else! Remember, there is no one to outdo.
Remember, you know your kids best.
Remember, this is about meeting needs and nurturing relationships.
You've got this!
I believe in you and am here to support you as best I can. I hope the year ahead is a wonderful one for you and is full of a million little lovely moments.
More soon,
Lusi x
